Pisa
Piazza dei Miracoli (Miracles Square) with its leaning tower, cathedral, baptistery and “campo santo” form the architectural complex that is commonly considered one of the most beautiful in Europe. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is the classic image used to represent Italy.
Among buildings of its kind, the Leaning Tower of Pisa probably carries the biggest number of legends: is said to lean approximately 14 feet from the perpendicular. Climbing the tower is surely an evocative experience, and it should not be missed. This is the only building in the world where one could get out at each single level and walk around its exterior 360°. The historic center is comprised of quaint streets, cafes, and squares.
The Arno river, which runs through the city, offers a great place to stroll, especially while enjoying a gelato.
